Time Travel

Time perception depends upon the structure of the Universe,
for when it expands, time will go forward as well as its inverse
If the Universe were in stasis*, time would probably stand still,
and we could move to the past or future at our very own will
But the fabric of the universe is to what we will be nailed,
so by then the entire galaxy most likely would have sailed
Suppose after 27 million years (through calculations), a red dwarf star will be given birth,
which current day scientists and astronomers would want to study from the Earth
and even better if that dwarf star was to occupy the position of our Sun,
the scientists need only go to the future, and ensure that their equipment run
Once that's achieved, the ship will be in close proximity to the star with its heat,
so the astronauts can return to Earth after securing quite an astronomical feat.
But what if a mishap occurs and they land inside the star?
I doubt their research and studies, would then go very far
but that's a chance those reckless people would definitely have to take,
their fates stay suspended on a spindle, whether to make or break
However, their research of the celestial body would take at least a day,
chances are the Earth and Sun would have gradually drifted away
But in such a short span of time, how much can the Solar System hurry?
they will be united with their beloved planet soon, it isn't worth the worry
But worst of all, what if they traveled 27 million years back,
and land in absolute vacuum ; space is eerily black
because the entire universe had moved in the upper-dimensional direction,
creating uncertainty inside the ship, growing horror and complete tension
and just a few minutes later the Big Bang would obliterate them and,
soundlessly a new Universe would come into being and expand

*stasis - the state of equilibrium or inactivity caused by equal and opposing forces

Movie Day

I wake up in the morning, groggy and gray
until I realize today is 'Movie Day'
An evil grin flashes across my face
my day'll be packed, there will be no space
to cycle, to read, to play piano, to study
today is my day, I'll be in no hurry
I bounce on the couch and lock the front door
'cause I'm going to start with 'Fantastic Four'
I warm up some popcorn in the microwave
pondering on the amount of time I'll save
if I skive off breakfast. lunch and dinner,
none will be harmed, and I'll be the winner
My mouth gets flooded with the warm taste of butter
(It's something I'd eat if it lay in a gutter)
I watch as Johnny transforms into a ball of fire
his power enabling him to rise higher and higher
and when he, Ben, Susie and Reed
give Victor a treat that he truly needs
The movie ends, but I'm prepared
today's created a memory I would love to share
I insert 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'
and lie contentedly as I watch Stan
fill Harry in about Sirius Black
little did Harry know he had seen him just a while back
Towards the end of the movie my stomach starts to growl
just as I hear Lupin's creepy werewolf howl
My throat hurts from keeping silent so long
part of me knows what I'm doing is wrong
anyway I shovel down mouthfuls of cake and apple cider
and I stare at the screen, now showing Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
For 'Tangled' is a movie that's more of my type
and one of the few I genuinely like
but it's a movie I've watched a few times too many
and getting as old as my fathers bottle of 'Fenny'
So I decide to change the disc once more,
in a movie watching contest I'd secure the highest score
But admittedly, my eyes are starting to burn and hurt
and the sofa is sticking to the back of my shirt
So I switch off the TV, and run down to play
and that's how I spent and ended 'Movie Day'

DREAM

Sunlight shines through the dusty window
at me my mother begins to scream,
oh why do I have to go to school?
for I had just been in the middle of a fabulous dream...

This was my Dream:

Where the sky is devoid of garbage and dust
and sparkling crystals stay buried in the sand,
where the heat is not increasing day by day,
yes! this is a magical land

Where stars dominate the crystal clear sky
forming constellations like Orion and Capricorn,
so unlike the present day polluted air
which we helpless earthlings have grown to mourn

Where gentle waves lap the shore
from which emerge an amalgam of things,
from merpeople to  fire-fish to sea horses to oysters,
whose pearls can be made into priceless rings

But the most triumphant feature about my land
is that people are not controlled by their greed,
where the world is not divided into rich and poor
and everything is provided to satisfy their need

And then I awoke...

I couldn't help but wish that Earth was like this magical land
without greenhouse effect, rising heat and pollution,
which has reached such a great extent
there may not be a probable solution

And that present day people weren't divided
on the basis of age, creed and caste,
for we must move on, and put these differences
forever forgotten in the past

The Universe in a Year

Imagine the number of events that happened before you were born,
like on Jan 1, midnight (the Big Bang occurred and) the universe was formed
The amount of noise that followed, painful to the ear
yielded many results: on March 15 stars and galaxies began to appear
On May 1 several phenomena took place, that day,
the outcome was the formation of the gigantic Milky Way
Beginning of September, a body was made without which the Earth can't run,
the body was none other than the life providing sun
The very next day (Sep 9) the Solar System was given birth,
after which was the rise of a fiery chunk of rock, the Earth
The moon began to revolve around the Earth at a uniform pace,
all the newly created celestial bodies, collectively, are termed as space
On September 20, the atmosphere took shape and the Earth began to cool,
so a group of of the earliest known life on Earth gradually started to pool
On Oct 7 the first ever fossils were discovered,
and later on, the first multicellular organisms began to take cover
In mid December, fish and insects were born who started to breath,
as well as the reptiles and land plants who thrived well on the heath
On 24 Dec, the fearsome dinosaurs took over the land,
after which the birds and mammals decided to take their stand
On 28 December, a meteorite struck and dinosaurs were wiped from the Earth,
that was when (on 31 Dec, 11:55 pm) first homo sapiens were given birth

Unfulfilled Wishes

I wish I owned a pair a wings
to soar through the limitless sky,
to look down upon those unfortunate beings
who lack hollow bones to fly

Or even better if I had fins
and the hydrosphere was my home,
where each breath would create a torrent of bubbles
which would rise up along with the foam

Or perhaps if I came from a non- existant land
full of ogres, witches and stranger creatures,
how blessed it must be for 'people' like them
to possess a bunch of unimaginable features

For example, if I was a pleasant little thing
with a bright pink cloak and a jeweled crown,
who went from pillow to pillow picking up teeth
of the sleeping young children downtown

But these are all impractical,
impossible hopes to wish,
but I still think rather than being a girl
I would do much better as a fairy or a fish
